Ngomong-ngomong soal gempa. Gua jadi pengen posting tentang magnitudo alias besaran gempa. Karena selama ini yang umumnya diketahui tuh cuma SR alias Skala Richter. Mo 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9… semuanya pake SR. Padahal besaran gempa tu bukan cuma itu. Ada beberapa yang lain. Dan penggunaan SR sendiri suka salah kaprah. Dari apa yang gua dapet di kuliah gempa, SR itu mentok sampe angka 6,7-an. Jadi sebenernya kalo udah di atas itu, bukan SR lagi. Ada yang namanya moment magnitude. Simbolnya Mw. Nah kalo yang ini mah ga ada mentoknya; karena didasarkan dari berapa besar seismic moment-nya. Seismic moment adalah? :D Umm… gua harus liat catetan gempa dulu kalo itu mah, hihihihi *gubrags*. Biar ga salah informasinya, gitu lho… Tapi intinya, seismic moment itu bisa menggambarkan besarnya energi yang dilepas saat gempa terjadi.
